Why does billy insist on open tryouts looking for a no-name when in the past (before the drummer) he just got real professionals himself...

Why did he jump after a 19 year old who at best is a 'decent' drummer?

The answer: Billy wants to fully control and run these peoples lives he wants these people to be his slaves feel like they owe everything to him and let him stomp over him....that is the lesson he learned from jimmy, james and zwan...

This is what he needs and this is the only way to get it....the system of a down drummer might be amazing...be he won't bow to everything billy says or does...markie boy will

he's realized the free license to asshole these half-ass musicians works out for him better musically than having a actual real musician that he might have to be decent with.

anyone with a bit of a read can see the body language between jimmy and billy on the all goes wrong dvd...see jimmy scared of billy even after all these years....

Billy may have a lot of issues, but I don't believe your statement/therory is correct. If it was Billy would no longer be searching for whatever it is that he needs.
Personally I think that it is his search for the answer to who he is and peace within himself that makes him our everyman. His songs go from range of human despair, loneliness, love, desire, anger. He may not be easy to live/work with. And we know he can be an ass**** who pushes people away. But I don't believe he intentionally uses people.
It would be near impossible to keep that out of his music. Eventually it would have creeped in :/
